From 27-29 November 2018, the delegation of VNFU attended the China-ASEAN Forestry Science and Technology Cooperation International Conference in Nanning city, China.

The delegation from the VNFU led by Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu – President, head of the delegation and Asso.Prof.Dr. Hoang Van Sam - Director of International Cooperation Division, Asso.Prof.Dr. Cao Quoc An – Director of Acadenic Affairs Division,.

Attending the workshop were the deputy secretary of Guangxi Provincial Party, Rector of Forestry Department, Guangxi Department of Science and Technology, Leaders of the General Forestry Administration of China, universities, research institutes and more than 200 scientists from China's and member countries.

At the workshop, the focus was on results of research and transfer of forestry technology between China and ASEAN member countries, orientations for forestry cooperation, sustainable forest management, and improved forest tree species, cooperation in training and capacity building for forestry staff. The delegation from VNUF had a presentation on the current status of forest resources of China and ASEAN and the need for cooperation on forestry science and technology of the countries in the region by Asso.Prof.Dr. Hoang Van Sam presented.

At the opening session of the conference, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Chu signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Guangxi Chinese Forestry Research Institute. On the sidelines, the VNFU also had discussed academic institutions, universities in China, ASEAN member countries and APFNET leaders about future cooperations.

The workshop is a good opportunity to promote the images of VNUF and open up future possibilities for cooperation in science, technology and training.
