Meeting with the President of York University, UK

On the afternoon of November 26, 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Doi – Vice President of Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) had a meeting with Prof. Saul Tendler, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of York at His Office,​

At the meeting, the two sides openly discussed the prospects for cooperation between the two universities in areas of mutual interest. Emphasizing on future cooperation in training and fostering lecturers; implementing joint research programs that both sides have strengths. There is high potential for two sides to participate to develop joint research programs for young scientists in the fields of environmental science, sustainable management and public policy under The Newton Fund, which the United Kingdom has been supporting Vietnam through the Ministry of Science and Technology (NAFOSTED program).
In addition, the two sides discussed the opportunity to exchange lecturers, staff between the two universities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Doi has participated in mid-term course (11 weeks) on Leadership and Public Management with the supports of Vietnam Government and British Council. The course was run by Departments of Social Policy and Social Work with many professors and mentors, such as: Prof. Neil Lunt; Prof. John Ditch; Prof. Ellen Roberts and some others.

During the midterm course, Dr. Bui The Doi also attended some seminars and discussions with the leaders, scientists and lecturers of York Universityon the fields of mutual interest and opportunities for cooperation between the two schools, and opportunities to exchange faculty and students as well.
