In the morning of the October 22, 2018, Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) had a meeting and signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Jiangxi Chinese Biological Resources Institute (JCBRI) for cooperation in training and scientific research.

The delegation of the JCBRI was led by Dr. Yu Faxin - Director of the Institute. Leading the meeting, there were Prof. Dr. Tran Van Chu – VNUF's President, and accompanied by heads and staff of International Cooperation Division (ICD), Academic Affairs Division (AAD), College of Forestry Biotechnology (CFB), Centre for Training promotion and Abroad Study (TRAPAS), Faculty of Forest Resources and Environmental Management (FREM); and some other lecturers.

After introducing about the Institute, Dr. Yu Faxin expressed his desire to collaborate with VNUF in research and development of plant resources of Vietnam, especially focusing on two species: Cinnamomum camphora and Cinnamomum sp.

At the meeting, the two sides have discussed on characteristics and values of the above-mentioned species, selection methods and chances for developing those species in Vietnam. The signed MoA will create opportunities for networking, training, research and staff exchange between two Institutes in future.
