Signing Agreement with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Forestry Research Institute, P.R. China for Project: "Lancang-Mekong Area Camellia Superior Species Selection"

On 23 April 2018, Vietnam National University of Forestry had a meeting with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Forestry Research Institute (GFRI). Prof. Ma Jin Lin – Vice Director, led the GFRI delegation.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Tran Van Chu – President of VNUF; Assoc.Prof. Bui The Doi – Vice President, Leaders of the following units: International Cooperation Department, Science and Technology Department, College of Forestry Biotechnology, Center for Training Promotion and Study Abroad.

At the meeting, both sides discussed about the implementation process of the project: "Lancang-Mekong Area Camellia Superior Species Selection". The two sides will jointly carry out technological researches on superior species selection and high-yield cultivation of Camellia in Vietnam; hold technological training on shoots propagation and high-yield cultivation of Camellia; select for more than 5 superior individual plants; train technicians and forest farmers for 100 person/times, so as to improve propagation and cultivation level and promote the Camellia industry of local area.

Based on the discussion, VNUF and GFRI signed on Project Agreement as a basis step for project cooperation.
