On 24-25th February 2018 in Da Nang City, the Council for educational quality verifying of Center for education accreditation, Vietnam National University, has held the session VIII to verify results of educational quality evaluation for 18 universities. These universities have been assessed by the Center.

Attending the meeting included members of the Council for Education Accreditation, the Board of Directors of the Center for Education Accreditation, National University, representatives of the external evaluation teams, leaders of universities which are evaluated.

From Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF), attended meeting members included Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu, President of the university; MSc. Nguyen Vu Lam, Head of General Administration Office and Dr. Trinh Hien Mai, Deputy Director of Examination and Education Quality Assurance Division.

The session was presided by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hai, director of the Center, chairman of the Council for quality education accreditation. The Council has in turn verified education quality evaluation results for each university.

On behalf of VNUF, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu has provided a summary of the status of activities and a number of improvements after the university's external evaluation. In the report, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu emphasized achievements of VNUF in 54 years of construction and development, especially improvements in the redevelopment of the university's development strategy, human resources development, university management in accordance with ISO, science and technology strategy, international cooperation, revenue and expenditure sources improvement, and financial mechanisms and so on.

Next, representatives from the External Evaluation Team and the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation summarized and synthesized processes and results of the external assessment. Council discussed issues that need to be clarified with the university president on development strategies; structural transformation from mono to multi-disciplinary; human resources development and organizational structure. Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu answered satisfactorily the questions of members of the Council. The Council has recognized the determination, enthusiasm, fierce of the university in innovation and quality improvement after external evaluation.

After that, the Council conducted private discussions focusing on existing problems of the university so that appropriate recommendations can be made to help the university overcome shortcomings and improve the quality.

With the spirit of serious, frank and honest work, 100% of the Council members have voted and agreed to pass the resolution on the educational quality evaluation results for VNUF. The university has achieved 53/61 criteria in the standards of educational quality assurance issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. This is a very high result that Council voted for the university.

Based on this result, the Director of the Center for Education Accreditation will grant the certificate of education accreditation to VNUF in the near future.

The result of this evaluation is a great success of managers, officers and students of VNUF. Congratulations to the university with the good news in the beginning of the Lunar New Year!
