International Workshop "European-Vietnamese Higher Education Network for Sustainable Forest and Bio- Economy: The First Technical Meeting"

On 2nd - 8th March 2018, Vietnam National University of Forestry hosted the International Workshop "European-Vietnamese Higher Education Network for Sustainable Forest and Bio- Economy: The First Technical Meeting: The 1st Technical Meeting".

The workshop had the participation of 6 universities: University of Valladolid (Spain); South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences; University of Eberswalde (Germany); University of Natural Science (Vietnam National University); Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and Vietnam National University of Forestry. All the delegation were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Tran Van Chu (President of VNUF); Assoc.Prof. Bui The Doi (Vice President of VNUF); leaders and staff of VNUF units: International Cooperation Dept., Post Graduate Training Dept., Training Affairs, Forestry College, Faculty of Forest Resources and Environment Management, students of International Master Program on Tropical Forestry.

After the workshop kick-off meeting at Eberswalde University, the 1st Technical Workshop at VNUF is the opportunity for experts to discuss about selecting courses and developing syllabus that can use for a joint MSC program on sustainable forestry and bio-economy; and presenting and applying Marteloscopes for teaching and doing research in forest management. The workshop devoted 1,5 days to clarifying all queries after the Kick-off meeting at Eberswalde University and developing syllabus and teaching contents thought teamwork activities. On the other working days, the workshop focused on Marteloscopes, an extremely useful tool for teaching in forestry sector, especially for forest inventory and the dissemination of the project by both internal and external communication.

The participants also discussed the preparation for the next project workshop in June in South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences.
