Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) had a working session with American Museum of Natural History (AMNH)

In the afternoon of 09/8/2018, Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) had a working session with a delegation from American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) led by Dr. Mary E. Blair - Director of Biodiversity and Conservation Center.

Welcoming the delegation was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui The Doi - Vice President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Van Sam - Head of International Cooperation Division; Representatives from Graduate Study Division; Faculty of Forestry; Department of Forest Resources Management and Environment.

AMNH is one of the largest museums in the world, with a total of 25 buildings, including 46 galleries, research and library facilities, and a collection of natural resources, animals and plants all over the world ...

At the meeting, representatives of VNUF, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui The Doi presented a general introduction about the University and some fields related to training and research on Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources; Associ.Prof.Dr. Vu Tien Thinh introduced the International Master's Program and advanced training and high quality programs and some outstanding achievements of the University in the field of biodiversity conservation. Dr. Mary Blair briefly introduced the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) and operated activities of Center for Biodiversity and Conservation.

Next, two sides have exchanged and discussed cooperation programs between the two parties, first of all the continuation of support and reception of experts, lecturers and students of VNUF attending international workshops on wildlife conservation, biodiversity organized held by AMNH; introducing professors and experts to VNUF in order to organize seminars for international students and master students. At the same time, the two sides have agreed to implement some activities related to wildlife conservation, to discuss biodiversity expertises, to apply high technology in biodiversity management and monitoring.
