Following the success of the first workshop, with the support of UN-REDD Program in Vietnam and the United Nations Environment Program in Vietnam, in 2 days 21 - 22 June 2018, Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) has been held the second "REDD+ Academy session for network of universities in Viet Nam".

Attending the workshop were Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu - President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui The Doi - Vice President; Prof.Dr. Pham Van Dien - Deputy Director of Vietnam Administration of Forestry; Mrs. Dechen Tsering - Director of the Asia-Pacific United Nations Environment Program (UNEP); Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Deputy Director of UN-REDD Vietnam Phase II, Chief of REDD + Office; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - UNEP expert; Representatives from Nong Lam university - Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University, Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry; Lecturers are involved in the development of REDD + teaching materials and Master students of QL25B1.1 and QL25B1.2 classes.

The workshop aims to summarize and evaluate the activities of the Network of Universities for Climate Change and REDD + Training in Viet Nam, to enhance exchanges and share experiences on integrating knowledge on climate change and REDD + in the curriculum and research programs, to develop working plan of the Network for coming time and to implement academic seminars for graduate students. Participants will have a working session with Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and visit PRAP and SiRAP models.

In 2 years of implementing the program, lecturers and experts of VNUF and other universities in the network have continued to develop the REDD + curriculum and complete at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. Up to now, 116 lecturers and 80 staff and graduate students have been trained with contents of the REDD + training materials.
