Working with Counselor of the Italian Embassy in Vietnam

On the afternoon of March 24, 2022 at the Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF), there was a working session with Prof. Marco Abbiati, Scientific Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Viet Nam.

Participating in the meeting were: Prof. Marco Abbiati, Scientific Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Viet Nam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa - Vice President of VNUF; and leaders of relevant units: International Cooperation Division, Faculty of Forest Resources and Environment Management, Wood Industry and Interior Design College, College of Land Management and Rural Development.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa - Vice President of VNUF warmly welcomed Prof. Marco Abbiati visiting and working at the Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF).

In the meeting, Prof. Marco Abbiati briefly introduced some cooperation opportunities in the near future:

Exchange and scholarship program for students and staff of VNUF with universities and institutes in Italian;

Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) is participating in the project FOREST (Development of a Master's Program in Chemistry (Future ORiented chEmiStry - FOREST) within the framework of the European Cooperation Program in Education: Erasmus + KA02 (from 2021 to 2024). The wider project objective is to enhance the quality of chemistry education and employability of the chemistry graduates of the Russian and Vietnamese universities through introducing the-state-of-the art Master's programs in line with Bologna provisions and to mitigate impact of climate change in Russia and Vietnam by introducing community capacity building. This project has 09 partners, including 01 Italian partner - the University of Catania.

The Italian embassy will coordinate with French embassy to organize and a seminar to introduce Erasmus+ program to Vietnamese universities:  ERASMUS+ capacity building programs of yesterday and tomorrow, in order to receive the feedback from Erasmus+ recipients of 2015 – 2020 period as well for the new 2021-2027 programs in Quy Nhon (May 2022).

-  VNUF hopes that the embassy will provide and seek funding sources for text books for the VNUF's library, projects and seminars; cooperation in the field of interior design, landscape design.

 - Prof. Marco Abbiati - the Scientific Attaché at the Italia Embassy in Hanoi would like to thank warmly welcome of the VNUF. He appreciated the VNUF as a leading university of forestry in Vietnam and also emphasized that the two sides should make practical contributions to the development of bilateral relations, contribute to deepening the mutual understanding between the two countries. Prof. Marco Abbiati is a full professor of ecology. He worked at the University of Bologna- Italia.

 

At the end of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa thanked the visit and work of Prof. Marco Abbiati; At the same time, he also believed that the scientific research and training cooperation between the two sides would increasingly gain good results in the future.
