Summer school for Asean Forestry students is held annually by the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia and it began in 2016.

The third Summer school  in 2018, entitled "Forest Restoration for Ecosystem Services and Climate Change Mitigation" from 30 July to 10 September. It is to provide learners with knowledge of price and analysis of a silviculture role in soil and forest ecosystems restoration and a role of intensive silviculture in mitigating climate change in the tropics.

This year, Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) had 7 students attended the course (including 05 advanced curriculum students and 02 graduate students of the international tropical forestry program) and 01 lecturer. This is the third consecutive year VNUF has joined with forestry students from ASEAN including Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. There are also students from Japan and Taiwan.
