On September 15, 2025, Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) solemnly held the opening ceremony of a specialized training course for 24 agricultural technical officers from the Lao People's Democratic Republic. This program aims to concretize the Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos in 2025. The course takes place from September 13 to November 8, 2025, in Hanoi.

Connecting Knowledge – Strengthening Friendship

Speaking at the reception for the Lao agricultural officials delegation, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien – President of VNUF – expressed his honor in welcoming the trainees from Laos, affirming that the VNUF will provide favorable conditions for them to acquire practical knowledge and skills that can effectively serve agricultural development in Laos, thereby contributing to consolidating the special traditional friendship between the two countries.

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Doi, Vice President, emphasized: "For many years, VNUF has been a prestigious destination for Laos in research and in training human resources at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, particularly in the fields of agriculture and forestry. Short-term training courses further provide updated professional knowledge and practical skills to meet the essential needs of the trainees."

A Practical Training Program

The training program is designed with a balanced integration of theory and practice, focusing on key areas such as agricultural extension, crop cultivation, forestry, and animal husbandry, all tailored to the practical conditions of Laos. Alongside classroom learning, trainees participate in hands-on exercises and field visits to agroforestry models across different localities, enabling them to consolidate knowledge and strengthen their capacity to apply it effectively in production.

VNUF – A Knowledge Bridge in International Cooperation

The 2025 training course for Lao agricultural officers demonstrates VNUF's active role in international education and training cooperation. In addition to short-term courses, VNUF has long been a trusted destination for international students at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. Looking ahead, VNUF will continue to expand cooperation programs supported by the State budget and international partners, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources in agriculture and forestry.
