Cooperation in Chinese Language Training for Students Between Southwest Forestry University (China) and Vietnam National University of Forestry

Within the framework of cooperation in training and scientific research between Southwest Forestry University (SWFU) and Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF), 30 students from VNUF participated in a Chinese language training program at SWFU from February to July 2026. This is a highly practical activity aimed at providing VNUF students with opportunities to exchange, learn Chinese, enhance skills, and familiarize themselves with an international university environment.

Following a period of study, exchange, and cultural immersion, on July 6, 2026, Southwest Forestry University solemnly organized the Closing Ceremony of the Exchange Chinese Language Semester for the 30 VNUF students.

Attending the ceremony from Southwest Forestry University (China) were Prof. Dr. He Xiahong – Vice President for International Cooperation, leaders of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Foreign Languages (International School), the School of Law and Humanities, as well as lecturers and officers in charge of the course.

Representing Vietnam National University of Forestry were Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam – Director of the International Cooperation Division, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Minh Nguyet – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, along with faculty members and students of VNUF.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. He Xiahong emphasized that this was a highly meaningful educational cooperation activity between the two universities. He highly appreciated the coordination among relevant units of both sides in successfully organizing the program. He also commended the students' learning spirit and Chinese language proficiency following their semester at SWFU, expressing his wish for further collaboration between the two institutions in the coming time.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her gratitude to the leadership and faculty of SWFU for creating favorable conditions for the 30 students to join this program. She expressed her hope that more students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration as well as VNUF as a whole will continue to study and conduct research under exchange programs between the two universities, and that today's students will have opportunities to return for master's and doctoral programs at the institution they have bonded with throughout this semester.

In recent years, Southwest Forestry University (China) has been an important partner of Vietnam National University of Forestry in expanding international cooperation relations. Over the past five years, hundreds of lecturers and students from VNUF have traveled to SWFU for study and academic exchanges. Additionally, many lecturers and students from SWFU have come to study and research at VNUF. The effective cooperation between the two universities in recent times serves as a solid foundation for deeper and broader collaboration in education and scientific research. It is certain that in the future, there will be even more effective cooperative programs in training, joint research, and international publishing.

Representing the participating students, Ms. Nguyen Khanh Linh delivered a speech expressing deep gratitude for the care and dedication of the teachers from both universities. She also shared fond memories and unforgettable experiences of academic learning and cultural exchange during her time as a VNUF student completing an exchange semester in China.

Following the touching moments of appreciation, the students took the stage of honor to receive their certificates of completion. The strong academic performance and course completion certificates represent not only the success of the students but also testimony to the fruitful cooperation between the two universities. Although the exchange semester program in China has concluded, the knowledge, skills, and cross-border bonds forged between teachers and students will serve as a strong foundation, empowering students to confidently open new doors in the future.
