Conference on Announcing Personnel Decisions
24 tháng 2, 2026On February 12, 2026, at the Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF), the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a Conference on Announcing Personnel Decisions. During the conference, leaders of the Ministry presented decisions regarding the mobilization and appointment of key personnel for the University and the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences.
The conference was honored to welcome and receive guidance from Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ministry's Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment. Also in attendance were leaders from various departments: the Department of Personnel and Organization (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences, the Vietnam Administration of Forestry, The Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Agency, and Forestry Projects Management Board.
On the side of VNUF, the event was attended by members of the Party Executive Board, the Board of Presidency, former university leaders from various periods, along with heads of affiliated units, and representatives of mass organizations and students.
Authorized by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, a representative from the Department of Personnel and Organization announced the following decisions:
- Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien, President of VNUF, is mobilized and appointed as the Vice Director of the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences.
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Huy, President of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, is mobilized and appointed as the President of the Vietnam National University of Forestry. The decisions take effect from February 12, 2026.

Delivering the assignment speech, Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Tri emphasized that this personnel rotation aims to meet the requirements of enhancing the sector's research and policy advisory capacity in the new context. The Deputy Minister requested the University to focus on three breakthroughs:
Education: Transitioning from "supply-based training" to "demand-based training" aligned with sector development and the social labor market, aiming for a workforce of engineers, masters, and doctors with strong practical skills and international integration capabilities.
Science: Focusing on forest economics, carbon markets, circular economy, biotechnology, and sustainable forest management; making science a direct growth driver for the sector.
Governance: Building an autonomous, transparent university model that attracts talent.
The Deputy Minister expressed his expectations: VNUF and the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences must act as the two "intellectual engines" driving the rapid and sustainable development of the Forestry sector.

In his acceptance speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Huy expressed his deep gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Ministry's leadership. The new President pledged to devote his full efforts, promote solidarity, and build upon the valuable achievements of previous generations to develop VNUF into a leading prestigious institution for education and research, turning challenges into opportunities for breakthrough growth.
The conference concluded in an atmosphere of solidarity and confidence in a new chapter of development for the University.
