On 19 May 2026, Vietnam National University of Forestry held an important working session with the leadership of Guangxi Academy of Forestry. During the meeting, both sides engaged in extensive discussions on strategic cooperation in scientific research, technology transfer, and particularly the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in forestry.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of the Guangxi Academy of Forestry, were Prof. Dr. Yin Guoping – Secretary of the Party Committee, along with heads of the Academy's departments and centers. On behalf of the Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF), there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Quoc An – Vice President; and leaders from the International Cooperation Division, the Academic Affairs Division, the Faculty of Forest Resources and Environmental Management, the Faculty of Forestry, and the Center for Varieties Seed and High-tech Forestry.

Within the framework of the longstanding cooperative relationship between the two institutions, this working session focused on implementing the signed agreements and expanding the scale of cooperation in the context of rapid digital transformation in the forestry sector. Key areas of cooperation include the establishment of a joint laboratory, research on aromatic tree species, and the application of AI in forestry.

At the meeting, both sides also agreed to continue implementing exchange programs for lecturers, doctoral researchers, and experts. In particular, VNUF will select and send experts and young researchers to conduct exchanges and research activities at the Guangxi Academy of Forestry.

The leaders of both institutions committed to close cooperation in order to further enhance the effectiveness of their longstanding partnership.
