Strengthening Cooperation between Vietnam University of Forestry and Nanjing Forestry University, China
26 tháng 5, 2026On May 19, 2026, the Vietnam University of Forestry (VNUF) held an important working session with the leadership of Nanjing Forestry University (NFU). The two parties engaged in extensive discussions regarding strategic cooperation in education, scientific research, technology transfer, and the exchange of lecturers and students.
Attending the meeting, on behalf of Nanjing Forestry University were Prof. Dr. YIN Tongming – Vice President; Prof. Dr. ZHU Jiangang – Secretary of the Party Committee of the International Education Institute; and Prof. Dr. XU Yihan – Deputy Head of the International Faculty.
Representing Vietnam National University of Forestry were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Quoc An – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President; leaders of relevant departments, divisions, faculties, and institutes; together with lecturers who had previously studied at Nanjing Forestry University.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa affirmed that Nanjing Forestry University is a traditional and vital partner of VNUF. With a history of over 120 years of formation and development, NFU has trained generations of core staff and lecturers for VNUF, who now hold key positions and contribute to the development of Vietnam's forestry sector.

During the working session, the NFU representative shared information regarding various scholarships for Vietnamese students, such as: full scholarships from the Chinese Government and the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet); Provincial scholarships (Jiangsu); and full university scholarships for outstanding VNUF students pursuing Master's and Doctoral degrees. NFU will support VNUF students by providing Chinese language training for candidates before they depart for their studies at NFU.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in scientific research, technology transfer, and specifically collaborated on the construction of a smart forestry laboratory located at the VNUF.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the leaders of both sides expressed their deep confidence that the strong relationship between the two universities would continue to develop and deepen further.
