The Ceremony were welcomed H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong – the Minister of MARD, H.E. Mr. Ha Cong Tuan - the Deputy Minister of MARD, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien - Director of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Vietnam Communist Party's Central Economic Commission; and leaders from some departments and institutes under the MARD.

In his opening speech, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Chu - President of the VNUF welcomed the delegation with the warmest greetings, gave the brief of the history of the VNUF. Prof. Dr.Tran Van Chu stated that in this academic year, the VNUF will witness relatively large reforms, especially in education and training quality improvement for forestry field, one of the VNUF's strengths. On this occasion, he also wished the freshmen students in particular and all students of the VNUF good results in learning, industrious practice, and great success achievements in the new academic year.

Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong expressed his joyfulness for the first visit to VNUF with many innovations, and being on the right strategic development of the forestry sector. He sent special greetings to VNUF tradition and many generations of íts teachers and students over 53 years of building and development. The Minister noted the recent achievements of the VNUF had many contributions to science and education of the country and the forestry sector. The Minister supports the university's growing interest in advanced sectors of high quality, focusing on the quality of training, strengthening scientific research and international cooperation. The Minister affirmed the ministry will mobilize all national and international resources to develop the VNUF's training environment, worthing as the leading research center in forestry sector for Vietnam.

During the visit, Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong attended to plant some trees at the university campus, visited the experimental and research forest of Nui Luot and student's dormitory.
