The delegation of Vietnam National University of Forestry visited and worked at the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development, Federal Republic of Germany
10 tháng 6, 2023The purpose of the visit is to evaluate cooperation in training and scientific research between the two universities in recent years and discuss and build new cooperation projects in the coming time in the context of cooperation in educating and training, scientific researching and technological transferring which are considered priority areas of cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.
The Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development, Federal Republic of Germany and Vietnam National University of Forestry established a cooperation relationship in 2017 and so far have jointly implemented 03 projects (Project "Building a Vietnam-Europe Higher Education Network on Sustainable Forestry and Bioeconomy" funded by the EU; The COMBIMOD project on the development of a technology for the production of thermo-chemically modified woods for the purpose of series production of innovative wood products for outdoor use funded by the German Government; and the DAAD-funded TRANSEA project "Transformation for a Sustainable Future in Southeast Asia").
While working at Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development, the VNUF delegation worked with Prof. Dr. Mund Jan Peter – Project Manager of Erasmus+ BioEcon, Head of Forestry Information Technology Training; Prof. Dr. Carsten Mann – Associate Dean of the Faculty of Forestry and Environment, TranSEA Project Manager, Head of Forestry System Transformation Training; Dr. Kevin Beiler – Bioecon project coordinator, TranSEA project; Dr. Ana Filipa Ferreira, executive director of the Biosphere Reserve Research Institute; Ms. Katharina Linne – Director of Biosphere Reserve Management Training Program. Ms. Manuela Pelz – Officer of International Cooperation Department, Dr. Evelyn Wallor – coordinator of the Forest Information Technology training program also attended the workshop on Application of Technology in Forest Management (Virtual Forest) and visited the Botanical Garden of the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development.
At the meetings, the two sides highly appreciated the results of cooperation in recent years, and focused on well implementing the funded projects and building 02 new projects in the coming time (02 Erasmus+ projects funded by the EU and 01 project on REDD+ and FPES under the IKI program funded by the German Government). The two sides also discussed cooperation in training master's programs, exchange programs for lecturers and students.
At the meeting with leaders of the International Cooperation Department of Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development, the two sides reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the presidents of the two universities in 2018 and prepared to extend the current MOU. The business trip was successful, opening many opportunities for cooperation between the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development, the Federal Republic of Germany, and Vietnam National University of Forestry in the coming time.
