Workshop "Application of Remote Sensing in Forest Resource Management"

Attending the workshop, on behalf of Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF): Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Van Khoa – Vice president; Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam – Director of International Cooperation Division; Representatives of Faculty of Forest Resource and Environmental Management, Faculty of Forestry, College of Land Management and Rural Development, Institute of Forest Ecology and Environment; College of Landscape Architecture and Urban Greening, with students of VNUF.

The keynote speaker is Prof. Dr. Dominique Laffly - Scientific and University Cooperation Attaché, French Embassy in Vietnam, Professor at University of Toulouse, France.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam – Director of International Cooperation Division welcomed and thanked Prof. Dominique Laffly for attending and presenting at the workshop, and at the same time looked forward to receiving comments and discussions from the participants. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam also wishes to receive more attention, support and cooperation with Prof. Dr. Dominique Laffly, French Embassy in Vietnam and the University of Toulouse in the near future.

As the speaker of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Dominique Laffly - Scientific and University Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy in Vietnam presented on the application of remote sensing in natural resource management in general and forest resource management in particular.

The workshop received many comments from the attendees, especially potential solutions to optimize the huge data source of remote sensing in forest management in National Parks and Nature Reserve in Vietnam.

The workshop ended well and opened up many opportunities for cooperation and academic exchange between the French Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnam National University of Forestry in the future.
