Looking back at history, on December 2, 1975, the National Congress of the Lao People issued a historic resolution to establish the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The founding of the Lao PDR marked the victorious culmination of the Lao people's struggle for national liberation, achieved under the outstanding and wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. This success heralded the most glorious chapter in Lao history and ushered the nation into a bright new era of development.

Speaking to congratulate the Lao students on the 49th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao PDR, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien, President of VNUF, expressed his delight at the development of Laos and the strong bond of solidarity between the two brotherly nations, Vietnam and Laos. He extended his best wishes to all Lao students, hoping that their studies and research at the university would yield the desired outcomes.
