Opportunity for Free Study Abroad for Students through Collaboration between VNUF and NPU

In attendance at the signing ceremony, representing National Penghu University of Science and Technology, was Prof. Yo-Ping Huang, President. Representing Vietnam National University of Forestry were Prof.Dr. Pham Van Dien, President, Assoc. Prof. Pham Minh Toai, Vice President, along with the leaders of the International Cooperation Division, Academic Affairs Division, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Faculty of Forest Resources and Environmental Management.

During the meeting, Prof. Yo-Ping Huang introduced an overview of NPU and its strengths. In particular, he shared information about the "International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE)" for those aspiring to study and work in Taiwan after graduation. This program gathers resources from the Taiwanese government, businesses, and universities to expand the recruitment of talented international students in high-tech fields. NPU aims to cooperate with VNUF to implement the 2+2 program, initially with two majors from VNUF: Ecotourism and Tourism and Hospitality Management. Students completing 2 years at VNUF can participate in the INTENSE program, and receive dual degrees. Students studying at NPU will have their tuition fees covered by businesses and will receive support during their studies. NPU will provide accommodation and additional Chinese language support for students. Additionally, Prof. Yo-Ping Huang introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as the applications of AIoT in various industries.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof.Dr. Pham Van Dien, President, welcomed Prof. Yo-Ping Huang and introduced the strengths of the university after 60 years of establishment and development, expressing expectations for future cooperation. The INTENSE program catches the attention of many students of the university. In particular, the application of AIoT in intelligent forest resource management will open up new opportunities and contribute to strong digital transformation in sustainable forest management.

Prof.Dr. Pham Van Dien, President of Vietnam National University of Forestry, and Prof. Yo-Ping Huang, President of National Penghu University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the following areas: (1) Student exchange; (2) Exchange of lecturers and staff; (3) Exchange of academic materials, publications, and information; (4) Co-organization of international conferences and seminars; (5) Implementation of joint research projects; (6) Other academic exchanges.

The meeting was a great success, opening up many opportunities for cooperation between the two universities in the future.
