Vietnam National University of Forestry Enhances Capacity for Agricultural Technical Staff from the Lao PDR

The training course spans two months, from October 29 to December 28, 2024. The course content focuses on: (1) Enhancing agricultural extension skills; (2) Crop production techniques (propagation and crop protection); (3) Livestock husbandry techniques and veterinary practices

The program integrates theoretical training, practical sessions, and field visits to exemplary models in various localities. Upon completion, the university will award certificates of training completion to each participant.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien, President of VNUF, welcomed the 15 participants and expressed his hopes that the training program would provide the Lao technical staff with the valuable knowledge and skills they need. He emphasized that the university's faculty and staff are dedicated to supporting the participants to the fullest. In a special gesture during the opening, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien spoke in Lao, fostering a sense of closeness, friendliness, and enthusiasm among the participants and the university.

Also speaking at the opening, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Veterinary Medicine Producers and Traders and one of Vietnam's leading experts in veterinary science, shared valuable experiences with the Lao participants and presented a set of veterinary books to the university.

Representing the 15 participants from the Lao PDR, trainee Daovone Thongvilay shared: "It is an honor for us to study in Vietnam to enhance our skills, especially at Vietnam National University of Forestry, a school with a rich 60-year history of development. We are particularly fortunate to attend this training during the university's series of events celebrating its 60th anniversary."
