Vietnam National University of Forestry strengthens cooperation with WWF organization and Management Board for Forestry Project (MBFP)

On April 20th, 2021, Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) worked with Management Board for Forestry Project (MBFP) and WWF-Vietnam on furthering the cooperation between three institutions. Representing WWF-Vietnam was Dr. Van Ngoc Thinh, Country director, Representing MBFP was Director Do Quang Tung.


Attending the meeting, from VNUF, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Doi - Vice President, together with Heads of VNUF Faculties and Departments, interested lecturers.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui The Doi warmly welcomed the WWF-Vietnam and MBFP delegation to VNUF and he looked forward to strengthening the collaborative partnership between VNUF and WWF-Vietnam, MBFP in the near future.

At the meeting, Mr. Do Quang Tung- Director of MBFP expressed his pleasure to visit the Vietnam National University of Forestry.

Also at the meeting, Dr. Van Ngoc Thinh gave a speech introducing WWF-Vietnam is recognized as the leading conservation organization in the country, bringing solutions and support to the government and other key players to meet the country's development challenges. In addition, WWF-Vietnam makes a difference from other environmental organizations; they focus on associating with commercial companies to fund long-term ecosystem protection projects. The main purpose of WWF includes: reduce the destruction of nature around the world, sustainable use of natural renewable resources.

The meeting taking place in a solemn atmosphere opened up a long-term and sustainable cooperation, helped to bring many practical benefits to students, university, agency and organization. The three sides agreed to cooperate on the main areas of mutual interest: Support collecting field data in training PhD, Master, Bachelor; Develop training programs have high applicability; Support for financing scholarships, tuition for students; Project development; Cooperate in training to increase the capacity of forest rangers.
