Working with the delegation of Southwest Forestry University of China (SWFU)
20 tháng 12, 2023Attending the working session on the side of the delegation of Southwest Forestry University of China (SWFU) led by Prof. TS. Xie Linkun – Deputy Director of the Institute of Materials and Chemical Engineering; Prof. Dr. Qiu Jian, Director of the Key Laboratory; Prof. Dr. Zhou Xiaojian – Deputy Director of the Center for International Cooperation in Biomaterials Research with the delegation.
On the side of Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF) there was Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien – President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Toai – Vice President; leader of the Division of International Cooperation, College of Landscape Architecture and Urban Greening; College of Wood Industry and Interior Design; Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and professional staff and scientists.
Prof. Dr. Zhou Xiaojian presented the latest general and updated information about the university. SWFU located in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China is a training institution focusing on forestry. With interdisciplinary integration and coordination of the development of bioenvironmental science, agriculture, science, engineering, literature, law, management, and other disciplines. The university has 23 teaching units and 85 undergraduate majors with a total number of students studying more than 31,000.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien expressed the urgency of elevating the already close and long-standing cooperation relationship of the two universities. The professor emphasized the items SWFU can support and cooperate to develop with VNUF in the coming time, especially related to Development Cooperation to strengthen the capacity of the wood industry college. The two sides also discussed research cooperation projects, exchange of lecturers, graduate students, introduction of research results on Wood Science and Technology, financial support for graduate internships in China, granting postgraduate study scholarships.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam, Director of International Cooperation Division also proposed more desired activities to coordinate with SWFU in the coming period. The most prominent is the proposal to restart the 2+2, 3+1 educational exchange program for undergraduate level, as well as joint training programs for postgraduate levels; Coordinate the development of projects and promote the establishment of a cooperation center on Biomaterials at Vietnam National University of Forestry.
After discussion, the two sides agreed to assign representatives of the two universities to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation based on the spirit of solidarity, cooperation, promoting the development of high-quality human resources for economic and cultural development of the two countries. The work program has been successful and opened new cooperation opportunities between the two universities in the future.
